Macrae Gould joined Fairmont as an Analyst in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, he was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy in 2014 where he was selected to attend Basic Underwater Demolition / SEAL Training in Coronado, CA. Following his time at BUD/S Training, Macrae remained under Naval Special Warfare Command with the NSW Language & Culture Institute. He received an Honorable Discharge in 2015.
Prior to attending Naval Officer Candidacy School, Macrae worked as a Foreign Exchange Analyst at UBS Investment Bank. In this role, Macrae meticulously analyzed economic trends and global markets, advising institutional clients, primarily macro-focused hedge funds and asset managers, on how to best allocate funds across foreign exchange markets. During this time, he was responsible for covering both G10 and Emerging Market currencies as well as foreign exchange derivative products.
Macrae received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Schools of Business at Wake Forest University in 2012 while minoring in Chinese Language & Culture. During this time, his curriculum was focused on corporate valuation, quantitative analysis, and strategic development. He has previously held a Secret clearance.
