Preston Gerard
Preston joined Fairmont’s Boston office as an Analyst in 2025 after interning with the firm the previous summer. During his internship, he supported strategic and due diligence engagements dealing with key defense platforms and commercial aviation market analysis. Prior to Fairmont, Preston worked with Shedd Capital, an aerospace M&A advisory and investment bank. There, he worked closely with a portfolio company to lead projects on acquisition screening, international outreach, and financial analysis within the aerospace chemicals and raw materials sector. He also attended the 2023 Paris Air Show, where he aided in business development and industry engagement efforts.
Preston graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Visual Arts. He was active in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and studied Economics abroad for a semester at NYU Florence. Outside of work, Preston is a filmmaker who has been recognized at student film festivals, and he volunteers with the international program CISV to promote multicultural hands-on learning for youth.
